Masopust Festival at Nelahozeves Castle

On Saturday, February 10, 2024, a traditional Czech carnival feast (known as “Masopust”) will be held at Nelahozeves Castle from 9:30—16:30.

You can look forward to:
🥨 traditional historic pig slaughter
🥨 selection of local beer from various breweries  
🥨 cakes, pretzels, gingerbread, donuts, and other carnival delicacies 
🥨 traditional festivities, mask parade, performances by a folklore ensemble
🥨 children's workshops: mask making, baking of divine graces and folk proverbs.

Visitors who come to the festival by České dráhy train can get 30% off admission upon presentation of a valid ticket. 

Tickets:
Adults: 150 CZK
Children (5–12 years), students and seniors: 110 CZK 
Families (2 adults +2 children (5–12 years)): 400 CZK

Free admission for: Members of the Lobkowicz Collections, children under 5 years old, and citizens of Nelahozeves. Tickets can be purchased in advance or on the day of the festival directly at the venue.

Discounted Tours of the Exhibition

On the day of the festival, we offer special discounted tours of the exhibition. The duration of the tour during the festival is about 30 minutes, and the maximum number of people in a group is 25. Tours will run from 10:00—16:00. Due to the high demand, we recommend booking your tour time as soon as you arrive at the festival.

Payment

Most stallholders accept payment by card; however we recommend bringing cash as well.

Access

Unfortunately, Nelahozeves Castle premises are not wheelchair accessible. Due to the expected number of visitors, dogs are not allowed on the castle grounds.

How to Reach Us

TRAIN 
You can take the train from Prague from Masaryk train station or from Ústí nad Labem to Nelahozeves zámek station. The Castle is within a 5-minute walk from the station.

CAR
We recommend using the free parking lot located directly opposite the train station. You can reach it via Dvořákova stezka street.
