"Tribute to Heroes" Benefit

April 28, 2022 | 19:00 | Lobkowicz Palace

On Thursday, April 28, 2022, “Tribute to Heroes,” a benefit in support of Ukraine, will take place at the Lobkowicz Palace in Prague Castle. The evening will include a benefit concert featuring a performance of Ludwig van Beethoven’s Symphony no. 3 in E-flat major, op. 55 (Eroica) by the Czech Sinfonietta, which consists of both Ukrainian and Czech musicians, under the direction of Radek Baborák. The evening will also include the opening of two authors’ photography exhibitions, which depict both the tragedy of the war in Ukraine as well as the hopeful spirit of its people. One of the projects, entitled "Queen of Ukraine" and curated by Bet Orten, features photographs of women in Ukraine during the first days of the war. These portraits were taken by Ukrainian photographers with whom Orten connected through the NFT community. The exhibition at the Lobkowicz Palace will include a silent auction of the background the women stand in front of, printed on large screens.

All proceeds from the event will go to the humanitarian organization Magna, which supplies medicine and medical equipment to Ukraine, and will be kept in a transparent account set up specifically for this purpose. The transparent account is not intended for the public but only for voluntary contributions of the invited guests.
