EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES
IN SCHOOL YEAR 2022 / 2023

Straight from a Spring and Summer packed with educational activities in 2022, the Lobkowicz Collections has dived into the new school year with the same intentions: to keep growing and expanding our educational programs.

We kicked off our educational programs in September with the ever-popular Junior Curator Challenge, which will continue until May 2023. Circa 160 Students from Deutsche Schule Prag, International School of Prague, Sunny Canadian International School, and ZŠ Táborská will once again work directly with objects from the Collections hidden in our depository: conducting research and presenting their findings in a final celebratory event at the Lobkowicz Palace in front of faculty members and relatives. The curators of the Lobkowicz Collections will then vote for best research and presentational skills.

By the time the Junior Curator Challenge closes this school year, the Collections‘ staff will be ready to welcome about 40 students from three universities: Boston College, Vassar College, and University of Colorado Denver for a summer experiential residential educational program. These students will learn how to catalogue, research, and care for historic objects, as well as learn about the history of the Lobkowicz Collections and take interesting field trips to partnering institutions.

In February 2023, we will start the hiring process for our competitive internship program. Students from all around the world can apply for the Lobkowicz Collections internship and learn what it means to run a non-profit cultural organization, as well as how to take care of art objects, books and archival documents.
