Roudnice Castle Winery

The Lobkowicz family has been cultivating its ancestral vineyards in the Roudnice region of Bohemia since 1603. Our wines have received countless awards through the years, and one was chosen to be served during the main course of President Havel’s State Dinner for Queen Elizabeth II.

The Winery

Founded in 1603, the Roudnice Castle Winery has a long history of wine production in the northernmost region of the Czech Republic. Today, it continues to produce award-winning wine in the castle’s original Romanesque cellars, maintaining traditional methods built over centuries.

Wine Pavilion

Adjacent to the winery, our outdoor pavilion offers a wide seleciton of wines for sale and tastings. Visitors can also enjoy delicious refreshments, live music, farmers markets, and other special events. 

Tastings

Sample a wide variety of our award-winning wines and learn about the winery’s history in the unique setting of the castle’s historic cellars. During the summer months, you can enjoy tastings in the picturesque surroundings of our vineyards. 

Wine Shop

Browse from a wide selection of our wines — from mineral varietals like Riesling, Müller Thurgau to signature reds like Pinot Noir, Saint Laurent, and the new Czech variety Fratava, which are fermented in traditional open vats and matured in oak barrels.
